CRVR Meditation

Dr Carl Simonton of USA has cured several terminal cancer patients by applying the techniques of meditation. His approach is very scientific, logical and effective. Cancer is generally considered incurable. However, he has succeeded in helping many cancer patients who were considered beyond remedy. We shall call his methodology CRVR Meditation: C for Conviction, R for Relaxation, V for Visualisation and R for Radiation.

Conviction: The mind plays a tremendous role in health and disease. People should be convinced of the efficacy of meditation. Therefore, the first step taken by Dr Simonton was to convince his patients that it was possible to cure even terminal cancer through meditation. Before taking up regular treatment, patients were made to believe in their mental power.

Relaxation: Meditational techniques were used to relax patients. Meditation is one of the most powerful ways to relax both body and mind. The patients were made to relax

through meditation for a short while. However, this has to be done at frequent intervals. Meditating at frequent intervals facilitates the patients always being in a relaxed mood with alpha waves of the mental state. This is essential for the curative process.

Visualisation: Another powerful facet of the mind is visualisation. What the mind can visualise, the body will literally follow. Visualisation is nothing but imagination with a purpose. When imagination is used to attain an objective it becomes visualisation. Use your imagination to create a mental picture in our mind. When the picture is created without any purpose it becomes daydreaming. If it is done with conscious effort to achieve something it becomes visualisation.

Dr Simonton has used the faculty of visualisation for curing terminal cancer patients. He asked his patients to visualise their cancerous growth and imagine for themselves that the cancerous growth was being reduced day by day, as they use visualisation with tremendous conviction while totally relaxed. They have to do this as frequently as possible everyday. Their mind must be fully saturated with the feeling that their cancer is being cured gradually but definitely.

Radiation: It is very difficult to bring conviction among patients that only through meditation and visualisation a deadly disease like cancer can be cured. Therefore, Dr Simonton ingeniously treated patients with radiation as well. Treating them with the traditional methods encouraged them to believe in his method of treatment. The patients treated with radiation and medication alone did not get cured but patients who practised meditation and visualisation in addition were completely cured. All the patients who had a strong will to survive recovered.
